About Lisa Kamolnick

Lisa Kamolnick Hi, I'm Lisa, the human behind the camera. I continually explore ways to create and express concepts and emotions, and I find photography to be a powerful means to that end. My interest in photography began as a teen when my family and I lived in Europe for a few years. I had a very basic camera that captured iconic landmarks and priceless memories. My love grew from there. Over the years, between other vocational and avocational commitments, I continued to develop photographic interests. I photograph what and who I love most--the natural world, family, friends, pets, and food. I especially enjoy landscape and still life photography, but I also have portrait and sports photography experience. My goal is to share with you the amazing and interesting things I've been privileged to witness and capture on camera. I have been fortunate to live in several areas surrounded by natural beauty. I often visit my former home, the Florida panhandle, with sugar white beaches, emerald Gulf waters and miles of inland bay and bayou views that speak to my soul. I currently live in northeast Tennessee, surrounded by the beauty of mountains, lakes and scenes along the iconic Appalachian Trail. These scenes are often subjects in my photography. I'm also a writer. My current interests are poetry and food blogging. In my poetry, I often reflect on nature, human nature, and what lies between and beyond. In my blog, along with recipes, I share stories--many with personal elements--that relate to humanity, culture and food. A former businesswoman with skillsets that needed a home in the world and not just my memory, I volunteer as communications lead for a non-profit dedicated to the elevation of poetry and development of poets across Tennessee and beyond. I'm married to Paul, an enthusiastic sociology professor, and am stepmom to his three children, who are now on their own pursuing life dreams. We are emotional support humans to our mixed breed dog and are surprised to receive the frequent affection of our two very chill cats.
